YIPEE!!!!
I am home... it is snowing... I am happy! Sent Jack off to a frost campout this morning. I swear the kids are hardier up here! I Love to camp... hate to be cold! Now..I have to work a bunch... but @ least I am home. The boys look like they survived unscathed during my absence.
I got a ton done in AZ... had a minor catastrophy (think $$$).. but all in all.. it was a good time. My folks are soooo hired, they both worked long and hard cleanin up my house, trimming up the yard and fixing stuff!
Got to catch up with all the coolest friends, neighbors and family... feeling lucky. Thinking about a shower before work and maybe another cup of joe?

Spectacular cold start of the week ends with snow Sat and light rain Sunday. Jack is keeping up on homework and apparently the Imovie is still going though server troubles have kept them from finishing. Critters are surviving Spec seems almost to have surpassed Zippers in the Nimitz weight class. Really when they walk past each other there is very little profile difference except of course the long verse short hair issue.
Todays chores include the 2 man house shape up, hang the red xmas lights , shop for some Jack food including dinner en tree's he can make this week.Jack loves the Calendar house. It gets him up in the AM (only to hit the sack for 15 minutes before breakfast). He's getting on the bus, dressed, I assume all by himself which makes you ponder why it can be such an issue when one of us is around.....
A small rebuild on the heater has bought it back to life and we have gotten Jacks computer to talk to the printer WHew...... Small things accomplished but life threatening (printer) none the less.

No Ph mssges to pass along need to call my Dad today and get the latest(though it sounds like a broken record on my deck wood)
Did you hear they scrubbed the shuttle launch till January!!! I don't know yet what the reschedule day is but WE MAY BE THERE! That would be cool

Anyway it doesn't look that my helper is starting on Mt Laundry without a nudge.
So its off line for now.

Stood out with Jack this morning waiting for the bus. Biting cold. Of course the bus was running late and actually stopped on the way outbound and picked him up. We may figure out a way to stay in a warm car until the bus comes tomorrow. I may head downtown to check out the wind today.. supposed to be +60 mph. JAck has scouts tonite and of course the laundry pile builds. Let us know what your bandwith capabilities are and we'll send some clips of the day.

..... Today is the first day of December....
It is cold outside with no snow:( DanG!
I am headed to AZ on Monday... excited, nervous, but strangely right on schedule to start a new job... even though it is an old job. Every two years whether I need to or not.
Houses every 5 years, jobs every two... but I think I'll keep my family for a dang long time!
Hope to gut the guesthouse while I am there.... It needs a whole new kitchen and well a whole new room. Plan to do my first IKEA kitchen and whole house. The bathroom was updated ... 7 years ago, so shouldn't be too bad! I don't have much $$$ so... it will have to be simple. But, the place is nearly unrentable in it's current state.

We have gone a long way...with this house, it has turned out fabulous!!!... almost done...curtains ... art and viola!

Jack and I are slacking on the couch..I am watching Click... Jack is working on ... let's guess ....shooting things on the computer.
Tonights the last big Jim Wilson Coastal hoorah...kinda sad. I'll miss seeing him @ your work, he has always been sooo nice to both Jack and I over the years!

I am pondering what we might do for him???? Any ideas? Can you print him up a nice framed photo... for the RV? You have alot of well... helicopter photos.

Oh My do you really have to reach up to put your arm around "the factor" I'm so looking fwd to home, we have to move everything to the next pad over the next two days but then it s home for this guy. a couple of movies, a game of golf and a thousand chores but I'm looking forward to it all.
Thank you Jack for being a great guy for your visit. It reminds me how much I miss you two.

Well we are headed to the Japanense restaurant tonight! Very exciting! We attempted the backyard hike for approx 2 min.... there was so much overgrowth and devil's club I thought it unwise! One of us would have been covered...
So... a rough day of napping, TV and eating...?
I hope to get a bit done this coming couple of days.... I have to do a little work..but I am off and Jack just has swimming.

Great day to fly and see some beautiful scenery. Same stuff here people up to the sites and down again with a side trip to Greens Creek mine for a much needed part. I don't think I'll be seeing any harry till I get back, but I think jack did and he's dying to tell us how it went. I think we're a book or two back on the series but I guess we should join the phenomena and see the end of Potter........

No pets to take care of, unless you want to adopt a mountain gopher for your garden. They look like giant squirrels and love to screech at you.

I'm still impressed by my new jacket. I would buy Mom one but she usually has all the latest gear..

It's me and the cats..... Not as perfect of a day today,... but work... is work. Very busy today... never ending...
I am off the next two days... hope to finish some project? Linda should be here on TUesday.. I am not sure what they want to do.... but we shall see...

Anyone read Harry Potter yet? Haven't seen the last movie... but I heard Jack has seen it.

Absolutley gorgeous day today . flew with the doors off and it was fantastic. Mom you might have seen the email to Tighe about moving along with the Tree house. How exciting is that!! They said rain today and you couldn't have it better. Here's picture of picking up our geologists coming back after finding maybe a major piece of ore of some kind. This is fun sometime but I really miss you guys and I'm waiting to see you all again soon. Mom! wow 11 miles I'm impressed and hope you do great in your race (great=survive) Off to dinner. love to all thanks Jack for writing. We love to hear from you and how the movie is.

its Thursday and I might go see harry potter 5 to day with Kyler.I called kordell.I don't know what else to say but Hi to every one.

It's SUNNY!
I had a near perfect day... got up... ate bkft, drank coffee... no surprise there. Ran 11miles.. to the glacier.. it was HOT?! Looked @ plants and trees.. didn't buy anything. Went to costco.. they will take back my wine fridge! Home depot for a level.... can't find one here... anywhere? Now I have two new ones. A little rock shopping on the way home on the side of the road. Spent the afternoon in my wild jungle of plants... trimming and pulling weeds. Started the small patio out in front of the garage.. need more sand... I'll get some in the morning before work.
Removed the plastic from the veggies, tamed the lettuce.. picked lettuce and had a lovely salad for dinner. Cut some of my herbs.. I am going to try drying some and see what happens?
The tomatoe plants look great... no tomatoes yet?
Took a shower...very SMELLY...
Now I am off to sit and watch the tour de france... they are in the mountain stages. Then I will be off to the land of nod!

Hello there family....surrounded by kitties.... they are happy... I am happy. Good to be home...it is mighty quiet here. I am still watching the tour every night. My big race is coming up fast, I leave to San Fransisco in 10days. I guess I am ready....? At least I am not hurt!
Everything is growing... waiting patiently for next garden spot.
I hope to talk to Jack someday.... I think I still have a son... I remember something about red hair.. getting taller... maybe he'll call me?

Sat July 14th

Morning fog has kept us on the for most of the AM. Checked on a few things on the mountain in the PM . Shane got a face to face with a young bear in the brush, both parted ways unscathed.Biding our time till the drillers show (Tuesday) then its full speed ahead getting the equipement on the mountain and start making holes. Mom should be home today...and the critters will be happy. Don't forget about the snake!

Firiday the 13th and nothing terrible has happened...... Finished building the drill pad on the hillside today. The bugs have risen from 33 mile where we stay to the 3600' level where we worked. In fact we swatted bugs at both places!! got to shoot a 22 cal pistol at lunch with the pad guys , hit (grazed) an orange from 15 yards away after emptying 15 shots in its direction. Gang Banger I'm not. Weather started promising but returned to rain something I bet you both are not experiencing now in you prospective holiday venues. Quiet and pretty lonesome tonite as usual, maybe a MacGyver and to bed. Hope my loved ones are well..Love DAD

Rainy and windy. Flew around for just abit this morning. Saw some goats an the hill that so far have been very scarce to find. No real work done. We found the mystery pad under the snow today which gave us some exercise shoveling at least. Kind of a day off I suppose. Hope all is well. Jack see if you can post another thought on the blog. Kind of a Grounds Hog day situation here. Wake up , usually watch a little of a dvd movie , have breakfast and fly to the drill site. It's different everyday but you have absolutely no idea what day it is because it doesn't matter. Made friends with an ground squirrel/gopher kind of a guy today. He won't eat my fritos and I said I wouldn't smash up his rock house. so far it's working out.

Rain most of the day.... Did some smelly laundry and gave myself a buzz cut (both hairs).

Mom, The flowers here are typical wild flowers of AK. They are all taking turns blooming and dying off to make room for the next guy to do the same. Some are very pretty when you look close at them and of course it reminds me how hard you work to make our garden beautiful, thank you.

If I were computer smart like Dad.. I could show you the deck plans..... but.... there you go. Hopefully they will start on the deck before you all come home. I am working on some garden ideas... not sure how far I will get... gotta work too. I continue to slowly shovel out the house, the cats are helping..hah!
I am off to another long run this morning, then work. Tomorrow I fly to Vancouver... think I will be out of communication until Sunday afternoon. Don't think my cell phone works on an international basis. House is quiet... I miss you all!

HI fam!
Just got hooked up to the net. I'm at 33 mile roadhouse up the road from Haines. So far we have built a couple of landing pads on the side of the hill for the helicopter and one pad (deck) for the rock drill to go on.

I'm staying in a trailer and thank you jack for letting me watch some of our MaGuyvers and some of the other vid's left at the house. Mom have they called about our Netflik's coming in?.

Day Off

Having a great day.. Broke a tooth that I knew was having a bit of an issue. Cut a tree down in th back yard that failed to hit anything but th ground. Re-Hanging the gutter over the carport, still not quite right but I can always go back and use the same holes again.

Father's Day

My 11th Father's Day has come and gone, and each time I reflect upon what my parents had to put up with raising me. The grass fires, rolled car,midnight excursions and nontraditional friends. I can only hope I have the temperament to be as flexible as they were.
