1st Friday

So, come on over for a beach bonfire.... we are thinking about making this a monthly event... say on the first friday of ever month.
We burn all our garbage and several pallets. The fire marshals are standing ready w/ the squirt guns. Nice cathartic event, I recommend it for all!

Project 2- The garage

This has been a massive undertaking! Many emotional & social implications. Dealing w/ all our stuff has made me realize I really am a hoarder. I really knew that... but never tried to doooooo anything about it. Everyday... I have tried to take one box to the Salvation ARmy, our is called "St Vinny's". They almost know me by name.

Number 2, big revolation is: I can't throw anything away. I have given away anything and everything to anyone that will take it. Found a local art place that will take old glass, found art galleries that will take styrofoam, ...free cycle is my new best friend. If you have never freecycled... look up your local chapter... it is sooooooooooo cool. The goal, keep your junk out of the dump!
MY goal... put a car IN the garage.

Jacks room or Project 1

Here is the "blank slate" Plans are to paint this wall. (very excitin... my first paint @ the new house!) Next, Jack will have a desk, similar to the one in the TV room.... then who knows?

Living Room

All the furniture from my last shopping trip has finally arrived... now some splashes of color and an amazing rug.... DONE!

Project central

Local update of the new digs includes a multitude of house projects. Nothing super exciting, interesting or riveting.... BUT functional and highly organized. Okay... it is true being organized makes me happy... (a little known fact)... no really.
So.. Taa-daaa ... 2 closet in the TV room done!

Happy 50th Anniversary

Here is the happy couple @ the anniversary celebration.
It was a small affair.... (my mothers request) We had a yummy meal in a French restaurant aboard the Jewel, a lovely toast and some... cake. Aren't they a good looking pair!

Off to the beach

John, Jack & I had a few beach adventures while we traveled. Some snorkeling, swimming in ....WARM water. Jack did his first scuba dive... pretty exciting. Saw some great tropical fish & a sea turtle.

The big boat

In January, the whole family took a trek to Miami for a trip to the caribbean. It was a celebratory trip for Mom & Dad's 50th aniversary. In attendence. Myself, John & Jack. Brother Kevin, & Karen. AUnt Linda & Larry... and of course the guest of honors... Mom & Dad. I think ...? everyone had a great time. I know it was nice to be in shorts and t-shirt for 2 weeks... not wondering where I lost my hat & gloves? The weather was perfect, the company fabulous, entertainment amazing, but food deamed marginal.

Paradise

This is where the rest of the world lives.... at least that what it looks like coming from 8 degrees in AK.
When in paradise do as all people in paradise do.... build sandcastles... ps.. look @ the white boys on the beach
